I have just learned from O2 that there is a system bug which results in spurious Data charges while roaming - in my case averaging £20 a day !!! - O2 acknowledge the problem - but havent posted it on their website. The spurious charges can be easily identified as they seem to always be at midnight and involve anything up to 15MB - at £3 a MB !!. They say they are working on it. Meanwhile expect astronomic bills - I reckon they owe me in excess of £500 !!

Having just returned from 3 days in Ireland I find I now have a £120 bill for collecting emails. The annoying thing I am with O2 UK and its the sister company O2 Ireland who are charging me. This is despite have a free data bolt on which conveniently does not apply abroad. This is blantant extortion of the worst order and the sooner the EU take moble companies to task the better. Fortunatly my contract runs out in October and guess where I wont be going to renew it.

I have been charged £170 pounds on my iPhone bill for roaming when in northern Ireland as my iPhone picked up the o2 Ireland network from he republic despite me not setting foot outside the uk (northern Ireland)

my husband had a bill for £1,200. when he queried it, o2 said there was a software bug and he had the whole lot refunded

I have o2 iphone, and i jsut got a £440 roaming charge bill from o2! i was in france for three days! this was mainly data but it was so expensive i was chocked, and wish i could cancel my o2 iphone subscription, as i do roam but this is bad.

Dont forget you have to buy the SIM. How many call from O2 can you make before you have given O2 more money than the roaming sim costs..
